The Infatuation’s food festival, EEEEEATSCON, is returning to Forest Hills Stadium – and this year, it’s two days. On October 5th and 6th, they’ll be bringing together their top-rated NYC restaurants, like Crown Shy, Tokyo Record Bar, Di An Di, and Mama’s Too. They’ve also invited some of their favorite spots from around the world, like Hattie B’s Hot Chicken from Nashville, Sanguich De Miami, Bite into Maine, and Noble Rot. Plus, they’ll have food collaborations you won’t find anywhere else, live music, guest speakers, and a few surprises too.
NYCWFF’s ultimate BBQ event returns, better than ever. It will be hosted by acclaimed Italian butcher Dario Cecchini, meat master Pat LaFrieda, and Food Network host and chef Michael Symon.
The event will feature more than 20 chefs and pitmasters from NYC and around the country, including Pig Beach, Kimchi Smoke, Truth BBQ, Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbecue, Mable’s Smokehouse, Hill Country, Mighty Quinn’s, Magic Mike’s Smoked Meats, Handsome Devil BBQ, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, and Holy Ground.
While there, you’ll be able to take in the waterfront views as you sample brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, giant Pat LaFrieda premium steaks, and everything else you can imagine that can be slow cooked, smoked, or grilled on an open flame. Classic sides, desserts and beer, wine and cocktails with live music will round out a great Saturday night.

Keep the summer vibes going at this Dining For Justice pig roast from Don Rodrigo Duarte, acclaimed butcher at Caseiro e Bom and New Jersey’s “King of Hams.” Don Rodrigo is responsible for bringing Portuguese Alentejano pigs to the United States and he will be serving this special Portuguese Alentejano Iberian hogs at the event. Side dishes will be provided by Chefs Consortium and Betty Bakery will be serving desserts.

The 15th Annual Vendy Awards, a fundraiser for the Street Vendor Project, will take place on Governors Island on Saturday, September 21. This will be the final Vendy Awards ever.

Oinktoberfest is the longest continuously running BBQ Competition and Festival in New York State. It attracts many competition teams and also features music and food for families who want to hang out. Admission Saturday and Sunday is $8/person,
Saturday’s competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned. Team entries are judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, and beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determines the Grand Champion. Optional categories will be Hawaiian themed.
Sunday’s events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest, Rib-Oink Off and Whole Hog. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is done outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking, steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories will be heavily influenced by the Hawaiian theme. The Rib-Oink Off is a stand alone contest. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There is a discount when entering both Sunday events.
If you love burgers, don’t miss the 9th Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl. Taking place in Philly on Sunday, Sept. 15, the event will feature 60 Philadelphia region restaurants battling for burger bragging rights.
Tickets start at $45. Proceeds go to The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia to support hardware needs to implement math and reading literacy programs in underserved elementary schools.

Parachute Concerts, the co-producers of The Hey Stamford! Food Festival, are organizing the 2019 Country Rocks The Park Music and BBQ Fest. It will take place at Mill River Park in downtown Stamford, Connecticut on Saturday, September 14 & Sunday, September 15, 2019.
Over two days, Country Rocks The Park will feature the area’s top food trucks & vendors. The Blind Rhino Beer Garden will serve up cold craft and standard beer selections, featuring Corona, Modelo and Half Full brewery, plus a full concert experience. The USA TODAY Wine & Food Experience will be taking place on September 7 at LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park. Attendees will be able to taste, savor, and explore the Brooklyn culinary scene, from local trends to regional traditions. Chefs and speakers include Antoni Porowski (Queer Eye), Alex Guarnaschelli (Chopped), and Dom De Marco (Di Fara Pizza).
The Brass City Brew and Que is one of the largest brew fests in New England and is now in its 14th year. It provides an opportunity for beer lovers to sample over 250 varieties of craft and specialty brews, as well as international and domestic beers. This event has drawn crowds from across Connecticut and several states up and down the East Coast.
For barbecue, there will be a variety of BBQ-inspired grub from local restaurants and food trucks available for purchase. There will also be an amatuer backyard cooking competition where grillmasters can show off their skills and win cash prizes. Event ticket holders can watch them compete against each other for the title of "Grand Pit Master."
The 10th annual Pig Island NYC event is back on Saturday, September 7 at the Erie Basin Park in Red Hook, Brooklyn. More than 20 chefs and pitmasters will be cooking half or whole hogs from Flying Pigs Farm in upstate New York. This all-you-can-eat-and-drink is always a good time and will be again this year.
Hudson River Park’s beloved Blues BBQ Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this season! Join the party to close out your summer with a fantastic lineup of artists from across the United States. The 15th annual Hudson Valley RibFest will be held at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz, NY on Friday through Sunday, August 16 through 18. The event goes on rain or shine and parking is free.
Based on last year's event info, single-day general admission should cost $7 for adults and is free for kids under age 12. Tickets are available at the gate or in advance online. The price of admission includes entry to the festival, live music, most of the additional entertainment, access to the contest area and same-day re-entry.
Thrillist will be hosting a big, fun food event with BBQ and food joints from around NYC at Pier A Harbor House on Thursday, August 15. You can come and judge some of NYC’s best bites, sip on drinks, and much more. The people will have a chance to vote for “The Best Summer Dish in New York City.” There will also be live entertainment, giveaways, cooking competition, backyard games, and more.
Vendors include Morgan’s Brooklyn Barbecue, The Nugget Spot, Black Iron Burger, Ho’Brah Tacos, Schaller's Stube Sausage Bar, and Oddfellows Ice Cream.
This all-inclusive event will feature outdoor space, sunset views, live music, and a ton of beer tastings. The main food event will be the famous "smash burgers" from George Motz, who makes some of the best fried onion burgers in the country. If you're looking for beer, 15 diverse small batch brewers will come together to celebrate local grains and malts and you'll be able to try them all.
The New Jersey State Barbecue Championship will not only be about competition, but will also have live cooking demonstrations and music throughout the weekend. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the NJ champ will have the opportunity to compete at the American Royal later this year.
Ever wanted to learn how to be a barbecue competition judge? The Kansas City Barbeque Society is hosting a BBQ judging class in Lake Placid, NY alongside the I Love BBQ and Music Festival. It’s rare to see these classes happening in the Northeast, so it’s worth flagging for those interested.
The class will be held at the Thomas Shipman Sr Memorial Youth Center at 61 Cummins Rd, Lake Placid, NY 12946. No time listed on the class yet. KCBS rep Nancy Muller will be doing the instructing.

This annual event in Lake Placid, New York attracts some of the best BBQ competitors in the country and continues to grow in popularity each year. Not only are there Kansas City Barbeque Society competitions happening on-site, but there are also lots of food and drink vendors for the public to eat and drink well while watching lots of live music.
Funds raised at the I Love BBQ Festival are donated to a local not for profit organization. This year, the funds will be donated to the Shipman Youth Center.
The Saratoga Balloon and BBQ Festival is June 21-23, 2019 at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa, New York.

Jeff Michner, the pitmaster and executive chef at Brooklyn’s Pig Beach, unexpectedly passed away in May 2018 following a brain bleed. At the age of 36, his death was tragic and he left behind his wife Sara and 16-month-old daughter Hayes. He also left behind his Pig Beach family, where he was instrumental in putting the joint's barbecue on the map.
Pig Beach is doing whatever they can to help Jeff’s family and to build a college fund for Jeff’s daughter. They will be putting on a benefit to raise money for Jeff’s family at Pig Beach from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. It will feature many of the country’s top pitmasters serving amazing food, as well as items from NYC chefs, bars, breweries, and distilleries. On top of this, there will also be a silent auction.
