Oinktoberfest is the longest continuously running BBQ Competition and Festival in New York State. It attracts many competition teams and also features music and food for families who want to hang out. Admission Saturday and Sunday is $8/person,
Saturday’s competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned. Team entries are judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, and beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determines the Grand Champion. Optional categories will be Hawaiian themed.
Sunday’s events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest, Rib-Oink Off and Whole Hog. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is done outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking, steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories will be heavily influenced by the Hawaiian theme. The Rib-Oink Off is a stand alone contest. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There is a discount when entering both Sunday events.
